Effects of microwave radiation on house dust mites, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae (Astigmata: Pyroglyphidae).

Adult mites exposed to 2,450 MHz microwave radiation showed 100% mortality for both species at high and medium power settings when exposed for 300 seconds. At low power, mean mortality was 10.8% (D. pteronyssinus) and 9.7% (D. farinae). In the presence of cul…

Effects of extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field on fertility and heights of epithelial cells in pre-implantation stage endometrium and fallopian tube in mice.

Exposure to 50 Hz, 0.5 mT ELF-EMF for 4 hours daily over 2 weeks significantly decreased the number of flushed blastocysts and significantly increased the height of fallopian tube epithelial cells in mice. The height of endometrial epithelial cells showed an …

Combined exposure of peripubertal male rats to the endocrine-disrupting compound atrazine and power-frequency electromagnetic fields causes degranulation of cutaneous mast cells: a new toxic environmental hazard?

Combined exposure to atrazine and power-frequency EMFs increased the number of degranulated mast cells significantly compared to control and EMF-only groups. Single EMF exposure did not increase mast cell degranulation.

[Autoimmune processes after long-term low-level exposure to electromagnetic fields (the results of an experiment). Part 1. Mobile communications and changes in electromagnetic conditions for the population. Needs for additional substantiation of the existing hygienic standards].

An additional experiment under supervision of foreign experts reported changes in autoimmune status in rats after long-term low-level RF EMF exposure at an incident power density of 500 microW/cm2. The article argues existing exposure-limiting standards may n…

[Autoimmune processes after long-term low-level exposure to electromagnetic fields (the results of an experiment). Part 4. Manifestation of oxidative intracellular stress-reaction after long-term non-thermal EMF exposure of rats].

Rats exposed to 2450 MHz microwaves at 0.16 W/kg SAR for 7 hours daily over 30 days showed increased levels of oxidation products and antibodies, especially IgM, in blood serum. Antibody levels were higher at day 7 post-exposure than at day 14.

[Effects of high-frequency electromagnetic field on morphology of hippocampal cells in female rats].

Short-term exposure (3 days) to 30 MHz HF-EMF at 25-1600 V/m showed no significant effect on hippocampal cell apoptosis or morphology. Chronic exposure (56 days) at higher intensities (400 and 1600 V/m) significantly increased apoptotic rates and caused abnor…

In vitro tests reveal sample radiofrequency identification readers inducing clinically significant electromagnetic interference to implantable pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators.

In vitro, reactions consistent with EMI were observed during exposure to low-frequency (134 kHz) RFID in 67% of pacemaker tests (maximum distance 60 cm) and 47% of ICD tests (maximum distance 40 cm). During high-frequency (13.56 MHz) RFID exposure, reactions …
